Robotic Projector for Applied Minds

One final robotic project that I worked on when at Applied MInds was a special projector for a 'Living Room of the Future' commissioned by Sony. This used a standard Sony projector but housed it inside of a special rig that was mounted in the ceiling. A small snorkel came down from the ceiling that allowed the picture to be projected anywhere in the room in any orientation at any zoom level. Focus could also be controlled. I designed the electronics and software for the system. All five degrees of freedom could be controlled in a coordinated manner so that when given a new position and orientation, all of the degrees of freedom would reach their endpoint at the same time. The positions of the axes were controlled using DC servo motors and encoders.
